Thanksgiving?

 So....hypothetically speaking- if I were to bring the family Guthrie up here for Thanksgiving (just younger siblings no cousins or Lucinda) could y'all like....promise to be real cool about a lot of stuff?

you must be Laura? hi I'm Sam, we ain't met yet but I'm honestly a little relieved that you don't yet know about the Guthrie family soap opera but I'll try an give you a quick run down
- the oldest Guthries (those of us at the mansion, so me, Paige, Jay, and Mel) basically raised the younger ones cause our daddy died and Lucinda ain't shit
- our family is in a MASSIVE blood-feud with a bunch of rich bigots what own the mine (they've shot at multiple of my kin)
- shit went down last Christmas and we can't ever have a calm family get together
- a few months ago my baby sister (Joelle, 16) ran away and joined a cult (we got her out but it weren't pretty)

So yeah....if folks could try to be chill and not spook my kids that'd be great

I see. I have other questions, like what is a cult? And what is a blood-feud? And what is "ain't shit" mean when you talk about a person? But I think I understand the assignment. I will not spook anyone at the mansion.

I can also answer these questions:

1. A cult is a system or group of people who practice excessive devotion to a figure, object, or belief system, typically following a charismatic leader. They're often very sinister and do things like: isolate members from the outside world, control what relationships members can have, and typically shun those who leave.

2. Blood-feud: we hate them, they hate us, we have on a number of occasions drawn blood and nearly killed each other over it.

3. "Ain't shit" when said about a person is an insult, basically saying that they suck and aren't worth as much as they think they are.
