So.....in an effort to combat the excessive amounts of blues music in my suite right now- I have decided to try to get back into rock music after a.....7 year hiatus from that genre (thank you Miss Dolly Parton)

Anyone got suggestions on the stuff I've missed?

And if any of y'all suggest "Sam" by Lila Cheney we ain't friends no more, that shit's overplayed and I'm sick of hearin' it

Have you hit up all the bands and performers you used to like to see if they've put out newer albums?

Eve6 put something new out a few years back and Skillet's pretty good. Five Finger Death Punch, too. Hinder's hit or miss, though. And that pretty much exhausts my opinions on music. I mostly just listen to whatever's on the radio.

Blondie, Hole, Babes in Toyland, Rage Against the Machine, Green Day...

Not bad. Not what I would have expected from a Dolly fan, tbh. ;)

Going back in time from there, check out the Buzzcocks, the Ramones, the Pixies, the Queers and Screeching Weasel.

Onwards from the '90s... try Bambara, Crack Cloud and Chubby and the Gang. I'd say something about punk these days not being a patch on the glory days, but I'm not that bloody old. ;)

Are you still working at Kirby's?

Not as recent, but I've been a Matchbox 20 fan for a long time.

Newer stuff (and even that's not new-new)...The Killers, Panic! at the Disco (Brendan Urie is a dang muppet and we love him for it), Bruno Mars...Dua Lipa's track from the Barbie movie was amazing.

DONUT SAM I AM HERE FOR YOU

Dua Lipa. I love her.
DO YOU KNOW YOU LIVE WITH ALISON BLAIRE okay she hasn't done an album in a while but her older stuff is really good and is actually closer to rock than pop even if she's categorized as a pop artist.
Harry Styles
Miley Cyrus. I know she was on TV and she's hannah montana but she is really good -and- you will love her Dolly Parton is her godmother.
BTS. Do you know k-pop? They're really big in k-pop
Billie Ellish
Alessia Cara
Charli XCX
The Weeknd

The Smiths are pretty good! Also funny you should mention that song, it was on the CD my friend made for me. Maybe I could let you listen to it.

As someone who strictly listens to classic rock, and music from the 60s and 70s, I say listen to what makes you happy and who cares what you've 'missed'. Sometimes, I just put a random playlist from spotify on in the background, and when I hear a song that interests me, I add it. Easier than searching for who knows what to see if it makes me happy.
