Someone needs to take you to the Wegmans if the regular store has you all 'ima never leave'

(you're totes valid, my mom bought groceries at the walmart only, I didn't know grocery stores had actual deli counters until I was idk buying my own for the first time)

We have to drive an hour to a Walmart back home…. It ain’t worth the gas when we can can things from the garden… this fresh produce in winter thing is nice

I don' t mean that in a shitty way I mean there's a reason it's a damn field trip. It is easy to drop an entire paycheck on just the butcher counter and cheese counter alone.

I spent so much money this weekend, but most of it was on treats for the kids, and fruits I'd never heard of before that my sister wanted to try. I'm usually better about goin in with lists lol

It do be like that. My dad moved out here about ten years ago and he facetimed me from the wegmans once like "WHY IS THERE A WHOLE BAR OF OLIVES"

Oh honey no. You wanna come with next time I hit the farmer's market or one of the big bulk stores we get things from? It'll blow your mind. Well, the farmer's market might not, because I imagine you had something similar back home, but the warehouse store might.

PLEASE - we went to an actual grocery store this weekend just to treat my sister that was visitin (and send her home with treats for the kids) but I’d love that!

I've gotta list but mostly it's restaurant food and chocolate. My gut hates processed food.

Good news for you is that I grew up on a subsistence farm. It's still weird to me that I don't know that folks that raised the pig for my bacon. I'm great with unprocessed food.

This is why we have chickens for eggs too. (have you met the girls? Audrey doesn't like her legs to dangle but otherwise she's a cuddler, fyi, she will get in your flannel or hoodie in the winter and try to get warm. We heat the coop, she's just That Bird)

I've heard about the chickens but ain't seen 'em yet. I'll have to visit and take pictures to send to my littlest sister who's in charge of our chickens back home!

Oh you're gonna love the farmer's market here. It's a little scant in winter (lot of jams and fresh canning, less fresh fruit and veg because not much grows this cold), but it's wonderful from about March-October.

I've honestly been lookin' into gettin' my own canning supplies for up here so that sounds great!

My gran would love you. We have an alpaca farm, and we did a fair bit of gardening to supplement when I was growing up.

I’ve also thought about gettin my fishin license here so I could make a real fish fry but that’s a project for later

I don't eat a lot of pork and I don't eat extremely spicy. So no pork chops, but if whatever you decide on normally has some bacon or a ham hock for flavor that's fine.

Costco or BJ's, Wegmans, and that local butcher in town so Sam'll at least know who is processing the meat, even if he doesn't know the farmer directly.
